Role Overview

The theatre orderly plays a crucial role in the operating room environment. In this position, you will assist in preparing the theatre for surgical procedures, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all necessary equipment is available and sterile. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and nurses to create a supportive environment that prioritizes patient safety and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of the operating theatre before surgery, including setting up surgical instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
• Maintain a clean and sterile environment within the operating room, adhering to infection control guidelines.
• Support surgical teams during procedures by passing instruments and assisting with positioning patients.
• Monitor equipment and instruments to ensure they are functioning correctly and report any issues to the surgical team.
• Assist in the transportation of patients to and from the theatre, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Participate in the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments post-surgery.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, following regulations to ensure patient and staff safety.

Qualifications and Skills
