Job Overview

XYZ Corporation is seeking a motivated and experienced In-House Employment Lawyer to join our dynamic legal team. Our company is a leader in the technology sector, known for its commitment to innovation and excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal skills, with a focus on employment law, and will play a crucial role in navigating complex HR challenges, ensuring compliance with employment regulations, and fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice on employment-related matters including but not limited to employee contracts, workplace policies, and termination procedures.
  • Ensure the company complies with current labor laws, regulations, and related requirements, including health and safety regulations.
  • Draft, review, and revise company policies and employee handbooks to reflect best practices and legal standards.
  • Manage and resolve employment disputes, grievances, and complaints, including employee investigations.
  • Conduct training and workshops for HR personnel and management on employment law issues, workplace compliance, and risk management.
  • Monitor changes in employment law and advise management on potential impacts on the organization.
  • Support the HR department in designing and implementing HR programs that promote a positive work culture and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with external counsel when necessary to manage litigation and legal matters outside the scope of in-house expertise.
  • Participate in the development of strategies and policies that align with business objectives while mitigating legal risks.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with a strong academic record.
  • Active membership in good standing with the state bar association.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing employment law, preferably in-house.
  • Strong understanding of employment-related laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide clear, practical legal advice.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex legal concepts in an accessible manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
